Poivre Bengale EDP is part of Brecourt's Ephémère collection, which aims to explore the old - and sometimes forgotten - universe of rare and precious essences that modern perfumery often abandons, because of high costs or because the raw materials are produced in such limited quantities that mass production is impossible. For the second act of the collection, creator Emilie Bouge has turned to India for inspiration. The long pepper from Bengal was one of the first spices introduced in Europe and was considered more precious than gold. It's more aromatic than the kind commonly used today and appears only in some Indonesian, Malaysian and Indian cuisine. Until Poivre Bengale, the long pepper has never been used in perfumery. Accented with several other spices, and underlain with sandalwood, leather and amber, it produces a hypnotic fragrance, enchanting and sensual, for both men and women.
