If we were to say this is one of the most amazing black-licorice scents we have ever sniffed, we would be speaking the absolute truth and yet you probably wouldn’t be that impressed. You might think to yourself: “Well, how many black-licorice scents can there be?” So, let us state this more clearly: This is a gorgeous scent, and we adore it, and it happens to have a fabulously authentic black - licorice note at its heart. There are many other things going on, of course – a cool green mint, a soft, cozy blend of cocoa, vanilla and musk, a twist of patchouli – and the overall effect is balanced and soft and sexy. But still, the true essence of this fragrance is licorice - the most mysterious of all candies, the star of the controversial black jelly bean, the secret of the slippery kiss of Sambuca. It's sweet , but not sugary. Dark, but not brooding. But it is crave inducing.
NOTES: White pepper, ozone, mint, shiso leaf, star anise, ginger, licorice, cocoa, patchouli, vanilla, vetiver, musk
RIYL: black jellybeans

Reminds me of Olympic Orchid's "Osafume" fragrance, which is another light, cool, and airy take on anise/black licorice. The black licorice scent is barely there on my skin, but I do get lots of soft vanilla musk and a chilly, watery mix of ozone and mint. The darker notes are nowhere to be found on my skin, with just a hint of the anise mingling with the watery, cool, clean, musky notes.

My first spritz of this perfume was pure love. It opens with a fresh green note that quickly becomes a rich black licorice and sweet vanilla. It's gorgeous, and It stays this way for quite some time on me. BUT! It fades to a dry, non-sweet musk with maybe a hint of vetiver which lasts for a long time. I don't care for the muskiness at the end, and so I'm not sure if I love this or if I'm not a fan. If only

I love black licorice so was curious about this fragrance. I did not expect to like it though - smelling of black licorice? Did not sound good to me at all but I decided to try it anyway. I'm so glad I did. It's great! FBW

The first time I smelled this perfume was on a customer who walked into my shop and I had to ask her what she was wearing. She side it was 1000Flowers so I set out to find out which perfume it was...Reglisse Noire was undoutably the one. It's funny though because I don't consider myself a licorice fan, but this perfume has changed my mind! I smell a bit of vanilla and sandalwood in it which I love!

After reading the product description and reviews, I decided to take a chance on this fragrance.
When you first smell this fragrance in the bottle it's all licorice. When applied to my skin the first notes I smell are licorice and star anise. However, it very quickly settles into the pepper and vanilla with just a hint of licorice. It sounds like a candy factory, but it's very soft and mild. Incredibly feminine. Not tremendously sweet either. Rather subtle. That is why I only gave it 4 stars, as it doesn't last nearly as long as I would like. I have to be a bit generous with my application. I do not have any regrets though, and would buy this perfume again.

A hint of dark licorice leads the notes in this fascinating perfume. I purchased a sample and had to have more. Make no mistake, this is not your Saturday afternoon kiddie flick licorice, it is not sugary, nor sweet. Rather, the fragrance has an intoxicating adult edge to it. This is a licorice scent that has passion with a dash of exotic spice and woods... and it is very feminine. Lasting power is medium, and it dries down true. After a nightly shower, I sprayed the sample on my wrists, the scent was still there upon waking... softer and mellow, but true.

Reglisse Noire deserves all the raves it gets. The fragrance is dark and rich, yet not too sweet and light. It smells like a moist piece of the best quality black licorice in the world. I loved it enough that I also purchased the splasher.

This was an interesting scent but I found that it had very strong vanilla and patchouli notes ( much more so than the black licorice). Very elegant and rich scent best suited for special occasions.

I hate black licorice, but this is special. I was hesitating to apply this before rushing to work and I'm so pleased that I did. It's wonderfully structured while still leaving room for diverse layers. Whispering little licorice notes throughout the entire day. It doesn't explode on stage with any particular note dominating the track. It's dark and provocative, sensual and lively. A huge plus for him or her.
Not too sweet, just right.

I am fond of the licorice note in a lot of scents. This is, by far, the BEST rendition of licorice I've tried. I've just ordered another FB to keep in a cool, dark place in case they would go completely insane and take it off the market.

This fragrance is stunning. Absolutely no candy or sugar, it's pure sophistication. I bought a sample based on the reviews despite having very mixed feelings about licorice but WOW. I'm ordering a full size bottle immediately

I asked for this for Christmas even though I'd never smelled it. My hubby got it for me and the only thing that would have made it better was if he had gotten the big bottle of it. It's the best licorice scent ever. It's not too sweet. It's different from anything else I own. It's warm and wonderful.

I bought this after reading some reviews and I was so delighted when it arrived. I get compliments all the time as it is so unusual and yet it has a pleasent memory type of smell. Childhood licorice, fields, not sure but it is a terrific combination. Have another bottle coming in the mail.Love this

Reglisse Noire is a delight - I wasn't even sure if I liked licorice in perfume especially but this won me over. Elegant, rich, not too sweet. Amazing stuff.

This is really an amazing smell. Very licorice but not "strong", exactly, at least not on me. At first it is sort of clean ozone-y misty cool smelling, later a little warmer but still with an undertone of water smell, never sharp smelling, though spicy in a great way from the licorice. It doesn't shout, smells muted when I put nose to wrist but the smell does hang around and is smellable all day, there is some sillage, little drifts of scent.
It's really beautiful without being noticeably flowery or citrusy or spicy or musky, really in a class by itself.

What a SURPRISE this one was--purchased unsniffed, and NO regrets! I wish all new perfumers, were as thoughtful, and put such effort into everything this one has. I was a little unsure,if the licorice note, would be too sweet, cloying or odd..but there is SO much more going on here. There is a gorgeous cedarwood, and other natural essences, that REALLY make this a real sleeper of a perfume! I am so happy to be able to review such a beautiful fragrance! Looking forward to the next creation, from this line:)
