The sky is a thick copper hue, painted in bands of honey, cloves and amber. Below the horizon, sweet basil drifts from dark cedar trees embedded with tobacco leaves beneath the bark. The air is smokey, spicy and slightly sweet. Your mouth creases into a small simper as the presence of fragrance is take in.

Copper Skies is exactly how amber should be: sweet, but not overly, and rich without being headache inducing. This fragrance is spicy, smooth, slightly smokey, earthy and delectable.

NOTES: Amber, cedar, sweet tobacco leaves, honeycomb, basil, cloves

  • AS SKIES CHANGE

My headline was going to read "Hues of Fall," but the description provided of Copper Skies nails this fragrance. So I decided to name it with the word "change" included. Why? Well, as the darkening of the summer greens change to the hues of fall, everything becomes colorfully delicious. Let the opening moments of Copper Skies blend in and become smooth with the beeswax, and you'll see the transition to be just the same as summer turns to fall. Yes, the herbal aspect can be compared to Ambre Sultan, but as AS's herbs are more transparent , CS's can be seen as embedded within a smooth, thick, piece of amber. I once ordered steamed dumplings from a Chinese restaurant. I asked them to make me something that wasn't on the menu and that was traditional. They mixed sesame, peanut oil, chocolate and Thai dragon peppers. My first initial taste, which lasted all but three seconds, changed dramatically after all the ingredients mixed in my mouth. I couldn't eat the dumplings fast enough. With that said, let the clove and tobacco become entwined and textured in Copper Skies. You'll be glad you did. Good longevity and good sillage. Because Copper Skies is so easily accessible, I have to give it five stars. This one certainly should be on your must-sample list.

This man knows how to make perfume that will make you swoon! I received some samples yesterday and am currently contemplating how to justify buying a bottle of every single scent he makes. This one is to me,is indeed "smokey, spicy and slightly sweet" What I love about this fragrance is that it is utterly unique but still classically gorgeous in every sense. The artistry of his work is exceptional and to walk around smelling this fabulous is the best feeling! This is a perfect scent for the approaching fall weather and for that matter for anytime one wants to feel fantastic. A true work of art from a very talented artist.

The powdery amber and savory, herbal basil reminds me of Serge Lutens' Ambre Sultan, but this has a gritty, ashy tobacco and sharp, dirty, metallic edge to it (like change in the bottom of a purse or a metal pot burning on a stove, in a way).

This thing starts off like a bang, the whole works. 40 year old with Viagra, the smell is amazing, there is the metal undertone which is strong and goes on for an hour at the most. Ready to walk off to have a bloody margarita. It fuzzes out like vapor.

I honestly have never sampled anything like this - perhaps the only scent with vague similarities in A-Men. Projection is initially harsh, but settles down after 10-minutes or so something much milder. Longevity is good (approx 5-6 hours on me). This and Broken Theories came together and I'd rate them the same - 'unique' - you won't find this stuff on the High Street, and I'm compelled to check out more by Kerosene. These two aren't for me, but would fit perfectly in the 18-25yr old range.
