Inspired by a trip to its namesake Hawaiian island, Maui evokes a carefree summer getaway and long walks on the beach. The lush, sweet flowers that you expect in a tropical scent are here, naturally, but along with the intoxicating frangipani and tuberose, you get a bracing splash of green bamboo, a sexy hint of saltwater on skin and a vibrant shot of spicy ginger and star anise. A fresh take on the tropics.
Notes:
Young ginger and star anise, frangipani, tuberose, green bamboo, salty essence
RIYL:
Sophisticated beachy-freshness with a tinge of salt in the air

Original, sharp and addicting
The spicy ginger helps temper the anise accord. Never would have pictured myself wearing an anise based fragrance but it works so nicely to bring the trpoical white florals into focus. Reminds me of the sharp smell of white ginger from where I grew up in Hawai'i.

Maui
Maui is likeable to me, though I don't often find myself wearing aquatics. It has an overall feel like cold, salty ocean water, almost minty and bracing. Clean and aquatic. I thought that the ginger and anise would be interesting, but I can't pick out either in this blend. The drydown adds in some green bamboo and a soft, tropical, slightly sweet frangipani floral note. Watery, chilly, green, and tropical floral.

Very nice and fresh smelling frangipani fragrance
This is a beachy fragrance without that awful coconutty suntan lotion vibe. This is a soft sea breeze bringing in the lovely florals from a garden nearby. This scent opens very minty and mentholish and at first I was not sure if I would like it. But it calms down as it develops to reveal lovely fresh florals with just enough spicy ginger and anise to keep the scent from being heavy and indolic. It's a pick me up, energizing and refreshing scent. It reminds me a bit of Yosh's Ginger Ciao but I think Maui is a better scent.

Crank up your weirdometer, we're going for a lovely ride
This scent is unique! In my hunt for great gingers, this one comes across as a more star anise scent, which I also love. The bamboo plays hide and seek, and the aquatic notes are very refreshing. This is good stuff, and well worth a FB.

Let the anise take you away to a another place
Not sure why I love this, it was weird when I tried it. Everything out there is vanilla-y and smokey. This is anise, and cooling- something you'd want to wear to a beach party. Very different. I got the oil, as I'm loving oil-scents, but I think the spray is probably good too. Try a sample during the warmer weather. Very different
