When a tip from a clairvoyant leads 23-year-old Neal Orris to a rural Connecticut barn housing his deceased father’s secret obsession, a pristine 1964 Shelby Cobra Roadster, it's the getaway ticket he was desperately searching for. After liberating his best friend, Ike, from his dead-end job on the family farm, the two hit the open highway. Aiming for the Palm Springs race tracks, their journey is a blur of seedy motels, cool swimming pools, hot debutantes, cocktails, and cigarette smoke. Each stop finds the friends inventing new pseudonyms and personas for themselves, their innocent game hurtling into the depths of decadence and desolation.
WHEN TO WEAR: Hot, hazy weekdays when you can put your life on hold and enjoy a simple luxury like a fast drive in the country.
NOTES: Lemon, orris, tobacco flowers, leather, hay fields, asphalt

A very interesting car fragrance. Burnt rubber, new car leather and hot, slightly smoky asphalt. I also get a waxy sweetness that reminds me of beeswax, and a hint of that dry hay note. Definitely the smell of a roadtrip :)

Generally, I dislike comparing fragrances to contrived situations or personal memories, but someone at Imaginary Authors nailed this one!
Cobra & the Canary IS a drive through the open countryside in a fast, finely restored, vintage automobile--a convertible--with the top down, the rolling fields of sweet hay and the fine leather seats warming in the hot summer sun. The smell of dry hay is fairly evident, but the damp asphalt is subtle and appears only fleetingly during this joyous journey. The notes never conflict but work exceptionally well together.
Don't be put off by the talk of seedy motels, cocktails and cigarette smoke, there's none of that here, at least not to my nose. I think someone at Imaginary Authors got a tad carried away there. This scent is CLEAN, alluring and as unique as it gets, start to finish.
I see myself buying a bottle of this. The longevity is a little short of average, as is the projection, but it's not a fragrance that should be in-your-face all day anyway. Everyone should at least try a sample, this is a fine example of creative perfumery and a good value for this price.

This is a quality fragrance and smells amazing. This is not a safe pick. And should be bold to wear. Love the fragrance

First you may smell a refreshing lemon scent which is soon gone and in its place the smell of warm car leather, sweet tobacco, fresh hay and yes, just a touch of the way asphalt smells in the summer. It doesn't seem that this would be as really beautiful as it is. I wore it out to run errands today and I got TONS of compliments. It is a comfortable, unobtrusive scent that could effectively be worn by a woman or a man and it is addictive! Low key offhand elegance, and very unique.
