I bought this, simply out of curiosity because the name intrigued me, as Trastevere is my favourite place on earth! I had previously never tried this niche house before, but was also intrigued that it was based out of Rome, which gave me hopes the name itself wouldn’t be a naive selling point from a house having no connection to Rome.
In terms of longevity, the scent is very long lasting and opens with a very sweet butter-vanilla note that seems to linger all the way down to the heart and bottom note. This frag doesn’t seem to evolve too much. The projection and performance is good-about 6-7 hours on my skin. In terms of the scent itself, it is a very good gourmand, but nonetheless, VERY gourmand. Not too sweet, which is good, but unless you like smelling like a bakery, this ones’ for you. I gave it 4 stars because it has great performance, but is too gourmand for my liking. Also, because it doesn’t resonate with my associations of the place. I get that Italy is a place known for food and luxurious desserts, and there are certainly a lot of bakeries in the neighborhood of Trastevere, (in which this definitely incapsulates), however, it is too linear for how I remember the place. All perfumes are an interpretation and personally, for me, Trastevere is too complex and varied of a place to reduce it to an Italian dessert.
