Sideris was born during a walk along a Mediterranean beach in Liguria (Italy) at night.
The moment was so beautiful that one could feel like floating in the air, between the sea and the stars in the sky. Sideris is a paean dedicated to the last night star "In the Morning You Always Come Back" a poem written by the author Cesare Pavese for the American Actress Constance Dowling.

Elegant, well balanced and grounding
I buy a Mountain Tea (Sideritis from Greece) at the local natural store for years. I like its unique sweet, herbaceous and comforting smell. When I first applied Sideris perfume I got the exact smell of the tea. It could be a coincidence because the official site does not list Sideritis in its ingredients. It is only mentioned in Fragrantica as one of the components. If it is there or not I love this perfume from the first sniff. I am new to Maria Candida Gentile perfumes, but what I noticed she is using not only natural ingredients, but meticulously selected for its very unique smell. Oils from the same type of plant will smell differently from different locations. Signora Maria managed to pick exceptionally unique variety of the oils. There is something common in Maria Candida Gentile perfumes I like a lot. It has some candied and powdery sweet DNA - sort of a signature. I feel it in Sideris, Exultat, Cinabre, and Noir Tropical. In summary: Sideris is like a pleasant walk in mountains on a sunny day. This is a very well balanced perfume from start to finish. It is soft and stays close to the skin for 5 hours or more on my skin. Myrrh and incense are very elegantly executed here and it is perfect for my mediations.

Beautiful, soft and feminine
The more I order from IndieScents, the pickier I've become when it comes to liking a perfume. I will only write reviews for scents that make sense to me. Pun intended! Sideris is not provocative, it's subtle, gorgeous, very pleasing. Vanilla should be listed in the notes, as I think it has an alluring vanilla scent, a beautiful frangrance!

Sideris
I grew up on the California coast. But I live now in the East. Sometimes I yearn for a difficult-to-describe mix of sweet resins, delicate and slightly citrusy flowers, tannin, a touch of honey (or maybe honeysuckle) and smoke that smells like home. This isn't quite that, (I'm not sure any perfume could surpass so treasured a memory), but it is beautifully evocative. I wear it when homesick, and am soothed.

Wonderful.
This is my favorite myrrh/incense fragrance ever, and I have tried so many of them. It's smooth, calming, sweet resins with woody undertones. It has a creamy, honeyed quality. Not bitter or smoky at all. Very easy to wear and love :)

Intimate
This is a very delicate, spicy, and powdery scent. In winter months it’s very dry, and I’ve found that the tea quality really comes through. During warmer months it’s more vanillic and has a sappy, resinous smell. It’s totally unique and feminine in an unexpected way. If I had to pick one word to describe Sideris it would be intimate. Whether that’s spiritual or sensual is entirely up to the wearer. One of my favorites!
